International Scientific Conference “Jelena the Glorious, Mother of Orphans and Protector of Widows, and Zvonimir, King of the Croats”

The international scientific conference marking the 1050th anniversary of the death of Queen Jelena and the 950th anniversary of the coronation of King Zvonimir will take place on 8 and 9 October 2026 at the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Split, Trg braće Radića 7, Split.

Opening of the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The 2026/2027 academic year will begin with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Grand Chancellor, Most Rev. Zdenko Križić, OCD, Archbishop of Split-Makarska, on Monday, 28 September, at 9:30 a.m.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, a lectio brevis will be held in the Faculty’s Great Hall.

The lectio brevis, entitled “Kierkegaard’s Sources: From Philosophical Influences to Existential Thought”, will be delivered by Jure Ivić, MSc, Teaching Assistant at the Chair of Philosophy.

Regular classes, according to the timetable, will begin on Tuesday, 29 September, at 8:00 a.m.
